SIE Enterprise Summit

Strathclyde organised a free trip to the Student Enterprise Summit in Dundee for the business students. It was a superb programme. Over 1000 students from all over scotland joined this summit. We've gained alot of insights from these successful entrepreneurs. Personally, I love Ken Hames's bravery, Frank Dick's enthusiasm, James Caan's capability.

James Caan CEO Hamilton Bradshaw
James is CEO of private equity firm Hamilton Bradshaw, and has been buying and selling businesses since 1985. Caan recently joined the panel in the fifth series of BBC Two's Dragons' Den.



Frank Dick OBE
Formerly British Athletics Federation Director of Coaching, Dr Frank Dick OBE is currently the President of the European Athletics Coaches Association. Frank has coached athletes to Olympic, World and European honours in several events, most notably in the sprints and relays.



Iain Taylor Global Ethics
Iain works with the not-for-profit organisation, Global Ethics, whose primary remit is to raise funds for humanitarian projects in developing countries. Their first initiative has been too launch a bottled water brand called One which donates all its profits to fund the development of unique roundabout powered water pumps, called Playpumps, in Africa.



Mark Beaumont Guinness World Record holder, Fastest Time Cycling Around the World
Mark became the record holder of fastest time to cycle around the world on February 15th 2008, beating the previous record time by 3 months! 25 years old, and from Fife, Mark will share his amazing story of how he acheived his goal.



Ken Hames
Ken Hames is one of the country’s leading motivational speakers focussing mainly on leadership, attitude and competence training. He provides a fascinating insight into pressure, survival, teamwork and motivation, after he served in the British Forces for 25 years.



Charlie Taylor Founder and Director, Charlie Taylor Hair, Health and Beauty
Charlie Taylor is one of the UKs foremost hairdressers and a lifetime member of the British Hairdressing Hall of Fame. Scottish Hairdresser of the Year three times, Charlie trained as a stylist in Scotland before moving to London in 1984, where she joined fellow top British Hairdresser, Trevor Sorbie.
