Edinburgh Day 1 We were invited by Edinburgh University Singaporeans Society to Edinburgh for their Singaporean Food Festival. We thought it was something similar to London's Singapore food fest where they invite Singapore chefs to London to cook. Big disappointment when we were there. Not only were the food prepared by amateurs (the students), there was not enough food to go around for all the guests. All of us were only given limited amount of food and were 'scolded' for going back for more? Rich arrogant Singaporeans looking down on us, the norm Singaporeans. We all had a very very bad experience dealing with them. Anyway all was not that bad, at least Damus and I got a chance to visit the beautiful Edinburgh. It's a very glamourous historical city with very beautiful buildings and scenery, so unlike Glasgow. We got the chance to eat very delicious local scottish food at the bar known as the world's end. I had the typical fish and chips while damus had beef pie with ale, and Leslie had the baked salmon. The most delicious scottish meal we had so far. Leslie also introduced us to the sweetest food ever tasted - FUDGE. Gosh, it soooooooooo sweet that you can get brain freeze! Lol.. We also enjoyed ourselves tremendously at Auntie's Betty (Leslie's auntie) place for the stay-over. She's a very nice lady who's not only friendly and kind but also very knowledgable. It was lovely talking to her. And not to mention the food she prepared for us, it was delicious. We love her celery suace. Yummmy... Gotta thanks Leslie for bringing us along with her :) Made some dumplings to bring as a gift for Auntie Betty The end product.. Not bad eh.. =P In the train to Edinburgh Auntie Betty's home for dinner A drawing of Auntie Betty's house ![]() |
